NCAA Basketball Finals: Kansas vs. UNC Odds, Stats
The University of North Carolina will face the University of Kansas in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship game for the second time in program history. Their first matchup was all the way back in 1957, when UNC took home its very first NCAA title.
The Tar Heels have since won five more trophies, with the last coming in 2017. UNC (a number eight seed) advanced to the final game after defeating the number two-seeded Duke on Saturday, in what was likely Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski’s last game. North Carolina also took down defending champs Baylor in the second round, in one of the biggest upsets of the tournament.
The Jayhawks meantime, were the number one seeds in their bracket and advanced to the championship game by taking down Villanova. Kansas is the favorite against North Carolina to take home the NCAA championship despite UNC leading the head-to-head series 6-5.
2022 NCAA championship predictions
Kansas looked to be in top form Saturday as it not just ousted — but trounced — No. 2 seed Villanova in a dominant showing. Ochai Agbaji was at the peak of his powers, David McCormack owned the paint, and the Jayhawks strutted their way to the national final. UNC, on the other hand, is coming off perhaps the most emotional win of any team in Final Four history after knocking off Duke and ending Coach K’s historic career. Kansas -4.5
March Madness Live
You can stream every game of March Madness on the NCAA’s March Madness Live site or app. You can watch for three hours for free, but then you’ll need to log in to prove you have a pay TV subscription that includes the channels that televise the tournament. It should be noted that in addition to cable and satellite providers, you can use a YouTube TV, Hulu With TV, DirecTV Stream or Sling TV subscription to access March Madness Live.
Latency is an issue with any streaming service and particularly with live sports, where you might also be following along on Twitter and could see a final score before the game actually ends. The NCAA says this year’s streams will offer a 20% latency improvement compared with last year’s. While that is welcome, March Madness Live streams will likely still be behind cable and satellite TV and could also trail streams from YouTube TV and the other live TV services.
